Changed the Cayenne today - like for like but a newer model with less miles.

Vodafone VTS service was renewed last December for the year at £266, not cheap, so a quick phone call to swap over to the new car and guess what - not transferable. You lose the rest of the year's subscription and have to start another 12 months. Nothing shorter.

The new car is an interim while we wait for a new Cayenne which will probably be Q2 2019. So another win for Vodafone who would want to cancel this next subscription and go through it all again.

Is this not a scam? Or at the very least underhand.

Fortunately I'm insured with NFU and they're not bothered about VTS so won't be lining Vodafone's pockets any further.

Almost as bad as DVLA and their clever little non transferable road fund wheeze.

Yeah
I renewed mine then sold the car a month or two later. Could’nt transfer it to the new owner, could’nt transfer it to the new car nor get a refund. Unfortunately my insurance company insist on me having it.
Cheers.

Bet once they calmed down, they had a meeting to look at all their processes & came up with a load of changes to everything to stop it happening again.

But generally you can't walk away from, or transfer an annual membership of a lot of things - gym, tennis club, Sky subscription etc ......Why would you decide this is a scam?

All those are elective choices, a tracker in many instances is mandatory.

Aside from that it's still not comparable. If you moved would Sky insist you paid of the first contract in full and took out another 12 month contract at your new house?

I can understand Vodafone refusing to issue a pro rata refund, but refusing to transfer the sub is frankly ridiculous.

The transfer to another vehicle is simplicity itself, just a few clicks and the job is done. Why would Vodafone think that this is a problem? My insurance was transferred over the 'phone in a matter of minutes for the princely sum of £5 despite the new car being worth £30k more. That is a better analogy IMHO.

And don't start me on Sky...
