Our 63 PLATE 3.0 diesel Cayenne needs 4 new 21 inch tyres.... new pads and new discs...... all round.....

60K miles on it now and to be fair cost me nothing since buying it with 30k on...The car has a Porsche approved warranty with 6 months left....

Does anyone have experience of costs paid previously at Porsche against an Indi.....? I know an Indi may screw up my warranty..

Just gauging everyone's experience.....

Thanks

I'll see if I can dig out an invoice when I get home later but I had similar at approx 90k miles - 18 months ago. I think disc and pads all round was approx £2k at an OPC. Plus a major service - approx £600. Brake fluid approx £150 (might of been included in the disc and pads price?). 2 years warranty approx £2k. MOT £50. Tyres (Yokohoma) approx £800 fitted non-OPC. An expensive year but like yours hadn't cost me hardly anything since I bought it with 3 years earlier 50k miles on. Now got 115k miles on it and front tyres are nearly ready to be replaced, major service due in a few months, and warranty needs renewing. Car (2011/61 3.0d) probably only worth £12-15k so I need to make a few decisions... I'm only the 2nd owner and it's got a massive spec (Air-Suspension, 21" turbo's, Sport-design kit, full leather + 18 ways, parking heater, ventilation seats, tv, adaptive cruise, upgrade headlights, FPSH + warranty and lots more (£80k list) so it's going to be a very hard car to replace!

Thanks .....I’ve pushed my dealer ...who I must say is superb,... and I’ve just had a Carrera T off them but it’s looking like around £2.5k for brakes all round and new Michelin 21 inch (N) tyres.... as well as tracking ..... so looks pretty reasonable in a ‘how much! ’ sort of way......

Thanks for the heads up.... The Cayenne is a great car, taken it all around Europe and off on a Euro road trip in a few weeks, 2 teenage boys and all the luggage, dead easy.......like you .......great spec as well........ Air, 21 turbo wheels, sport design kit, BOSE, etc etc .......don’t think we could get rid of it... Great tool...and there is something sweet knowing it will keep going and going and going and using it as Porsche intended.... That’s when these cars become good value..!!!

I’ve got a Mercedes Estate with 150k on an 09....had it from new .....worthless now..... 1 minor breakdown in 9 years fixed in 1week , but kept it spotless and you’d think it had 50k on...

I like getting the most out of cars!!!!

I needed new discs and pads on my 63 plate Cayenne about 4 months ago. OPC wanted nearly £2k to do the work which I thought was a joke. So I bought the pads and discs from Design 911, cost about £500ish and had a indy fit them and it cost me in total under £800.

Yep that was the conundrum...... Porsche warranty has 6 months left so with the tyres as well it’s getting up to £1,800 to £2,000 ..... by the time you factor in the tracking and the security of the warranty it was getting a little closer.... plus go to Nice 2 days after it’s done so again no dispute if any issues with the car en route or back......or for the next 6 months.

Figured sleeping easy is worth it...!

Agree...... it’s a scary number but there is a base cost to these things for any car...... that’s how I convince myself anyway..!!!

I was quoted $2-3k for the brakes. But, I wasn’t happy with the OEM disks rusting and the dust from the pads. Instead I bought what I consider upgraded parts and installed them in an afternoon for $600.
