Hi

When I returned to my 2004 996 C4S the other day after leaving it baking in my works car park (a rare 32C + day) i was startled to find the rear Bose subwoofer continually popping loudly. After about 5 minutes of my journey, despite turning the bass down, which did reduce the volume of the popping, the system fused.

After doing some googling I eventually sent the amp (996.645.333.05) off to Cartronics using their postal service for them to diagnose/quote. They were very efficient I have to say, but diagnosed that the amp required a 'new board' at a cost of £481...

I would be grateful of any advice as to what to do:
a) suck it up and pay the £481?
b) try and find a working used one or eBay or such like (none currently available but seem to sell for £150-£225)?
c) replace the amp with some form of alternative non OE amp?

If anyone out there has a working 996.645.333.05 which they've ditched after replacing the PCM I'd love to hear from them too!

Thanks in advance
