Any experience/constructive comments please regarding Porsche Assist documentation/registration after buying a used car from OPC? The vehicle has the remainder of its manufacturer warranty and assist but I don't seem to have any documentation. Seem to remember getting stuff through the post and a plastic card the last time, but that was 7 years ago.
Three weeks since purchase, do I need to start chasing, or is the timeframe 'normal'?

Thanks guys

Got mine within a week. Probably worth a call to the dealer.

Earlier this year I bought a Porsche Approved 997.2 from OPC. Despite several attempts I couldn’t get any paperwork associated with the 2yr warranty + assist. They just kept telling me it was standard with an approved car and any issues just phone the website number! I did ask another OPC and they did say I should get paperwork from the selling OPC. But life too short and I bought the car unseen.

Same issue here. Kept calling, and after two months, I ended up receiving three packs instead of just one...!
Had to call assist once, and the chap broke a hook in the plastic underly underneath the bonnet... I have no proof unfortunately, so that is setting me back £200 to replace it!

I think mine came within 10 days or so, also needed to use it due to a dead battery. Porsche Assist use the AA, so someone turned, did a few checks, jump started it, etc. Then declared battery was dead, apparently not allowed to replace battery (assume non Porsche), couldn't lend one to get me home either...

He spends more time on the phone arranging a covered truck to transport the car 100 miles home all for a duff battery! Before he leaves he says if I can't get it to a dealer they will come and collect it and take it there for me.

I would say mixed feelings really, all that for a dead battery but they did go the distance and beyond. Never did get a renewal request from the OPC I bought the car from, maybe I broke the rules by using it and I am banned for life as a result.

You should have been given a courtesy car. We called Porsche direct because our cayenne smelt of diesel. AA man confirmed, arranged collection to local OPC.

Enterprise provided a BMW 4-Series M spec car for the duration of the repair. They were a really poor advert but did eventually provide a car. Just took about six calls or so.

Car was, conveniently, collected from OPC when I picked up the cayenne.

One thing I discovered years ago is that while they transport your Porsche to the nearest Porsche Centre when it's repaired you must collect it. In my case the Centre is 168 miles away !

I destroyed the windscreen in my 997 c2s in 2005 in Italy. Porsche assist do not cover glass.
