Anyone got experience of refurb'ing 18" sport classic wheels? They've been kerbed and the lacquer is coming of they polished rim. Amazing alloys in Reading sound promising but I live in Leicestershire (have to take the wheels down to them) and I have no experience of them.Do I need to refurb the whole wheel (Centre spokes are good) or can companies just refurb the polished rim section? How much should it cost? All ideas/knowledge greatfully recieved!!

spit and polish have come up in conversation several times and people generally seem very happy with their split rim service.

try google "spit'n'polish" wheel refinishers or something like that.

I had a set of GT3 splitrims done at Renowheel, superb job, one of the wheels was heavily kerbed and required a welding repair the rest were scuffed with peeling laquer, they came back like new. Cost about £430 + postage.

Greg at amazing alloys did my 2 piece sport design wheels at the weekend! Did a very good job on them - and just did the outer rim (didn't like the idea of them being taken apart etc). Would recommend him and did it in a morning so didn't lose the use of the car.

I just got my car and it had 2 kerbed wheels and I did a bit of research as didn't want to loose the use of it for a week and have the hassle of sending wheels off etc.

Dont have his details to hand but he is based in reading. Let me know if you want me to look out details.
