For those "in the know", the 1982 Porsche 956C of Derek Bell and Stefan Bellof fame is in the showroom at OPC Reading at the mo. I was there today - it looks fantastic!

This is the car they they won in at the 'Ring (1983?), and if i'm not mistaken is the car Mr Bellof set the 'Ring record in (something like 6:24 wasn't it?).

Twin calipers on all four discs, water cooled heads, 4 valves per cylinder, and over 600hp from 2.8 litres. AWESOME!

If you're passing i can thoroughly recommend a quick gander.

Is is Chassis number 9, it was there last year when I went down and I did some research on it and told this guy where it was:

http://962.com/registry/956_962/index.htm

No big wins of note on it's record though.

Awesome looking thing isn't it!

Official qualifying time 6:25, although it's accepted that in practice he did a 6:11.

It is chassis number 9, and i checked my pictures and it won at the 'Ring in '84 as well as a few other 1000km races in '83/4.

Wicked looking thing - i want one!

Cool, I was going by the records held on the above site, I figured they'd have mentioned any big race wins.

It was a lot smaller than I thought it would be.

At Donington last Monday they had a Coys display, with the championship winning 956 (005)- the Mass/Ickx car. I have some photos somewhere...

Wierd, the 962 register says chassis no 5 was written off in 1983. I beginning to think that whole site is made up

I've heard that a "championship winning" 956 or 962 is for sale at the moment, but AFAIK it's not advertised "publicly" as it were. I wonder whether this is the car?

They are constantly moving old porsche's into the showroom recently, had a CGT for a while, was very nice.

I'm still waiting for a replacement service book, which by the excuses im being given they have to chop trees down to make ther paper to make the book by the sounds of things, ah well. Replacement service books don't even exist in Germany I was told, so have to be ordered
