997GT3 or 997 Turbo ?

Guys,
I am in the fortunate postion of having orders in for both 997GT3 and Turbo derivatives.
Sod's law would dictate that they are both going to hit the market at a very similar time!...or so I've heard?
This will replace my current 997 Carrera S as my daily driver - and just wondering, on the assumption that I can only justify one, which would be the better bet when, practicality, useability, enjoyment, and financials are all taken into account??

The truthful answer must be that we don't know for sure. But working on the assumption that the new 997 Turbo and GT3 are similar in character etc to the 996 versions (and surely this will be the case broadly speaking) then the answer must be:
enjoyment, financials.....GT3
practicality, useability.....Turbo

Judging by the number of Porsches you've owned (from your PH profile), you should know the answer to this one better than 99% of people.
Was the 993 GT2 your favourite driving wise?
Anyway, as an ex-Mk1 GT3 owner, I'd say GT3 for enjoyment and financials........Turbo for practicality.
Has it been confirmed yet whether the new GT3 will use a version of the 997 engine or old GT3 engine? Not sure it will be so special/desireable with 997 engine.

Those in the know are saying it will definitely have the current GT3's engine (3600cc) but with 408 BHP which of course would be better than a 997 engine.

I agree with you in principle but the residuals of the 997 GT3 matching those of the mk1 996 GT3 are dependent if the latest generation is a limited prodcution run or not.
Can anyone shed any light if the values of used mk2 996 GT3's are holding up as well as the mk1s in comparison to similar age 996 turbos?
Fair point but there's always a big demand for the latest toy and the new GT3 should hold it's value well, initially at least (first 6 months).
As for Mk2 GT3's, they've brought down the price of the Mk1's (I sold mine about 6 months ago after having it for 2 years) and seem to be falling fast at moment. Seems that £55k'ish would be the right price to pay in a private sale for your average example and good value at that. To be fair, the whole fast/expensive car market is very overcrowded nowadays with a *lot* more cars for sale than buyers so prices being pushed down IMO.
Now will someone buy my Radical please.
As for Mk2 GT3's, they've brought down the price of the Mk1's (I sold mine about 6 months ago after having it for 2 years) and seem to be falling fast at moment. Seems that £55k'ish would be the right price to pay in a private sale for your average example and good value at that. I presume you are saying 55k for a mk2 GT3, not mk1? If so I'm inclined to agree, although I haven't seen any private at that level.
Word I have is 1st Quarter 2006 for TT and 2nd for GT3.
Ideally I would have had the GT3 for over the summer and then got into the TT for the winter - unlikely that this will work out now.
The big plus of the TT for me is the two jump seats in the back for the kids - I find the car gets used a lot more when you can take the wife/kids along! (We are using the 997 S a lot at the weeknds/evenings now instead of the normal saloon/ 4X4 alternatives)
My heart says the GT3 will be the one to have - but my head says the TT will be a better everyday proposition and a good replacement for the 997 S.
