Hi All

long story short, I fitted some spacers to my Panamera (2017/ 971) on the weekend. The wheels fill the arches far better than factory, job well done.

The only issue I'm seeing now is the front axle isn't sitting even - I usually drive the car in its lowest setting. The passenger side I can barely fit my finger in-between the top of the tyre and the arch, where as the drivers side looks a little too high as I can get my whole hand in the same gap.

Its only visually I noticed this, I cant really tell any difference at all from driving the car. The rear wheels seem to sit as they should within the high, normal and low settings.

Just to clarify the car is on the factory air suspension, and it was put in 'jack mode' to disable the system before jacking so it didn't start hopping about on the jack. This problem has only occurred after jacking so I'm curious what I've done!

Is there a way of resetting the air suspension myself perhaps? I feel its simply a calibration/ resetting sensor job as opposed to a full on hardware fault but of course I could be wrong.

I appreciate your advice!

Irfan

Have you tried Jack mode > highest setting > back to low?

Tried this yesterday after seeing your comment and it doesn't want to know.

I looked at it again lastnight and it seems both front AND rear passenger side are lower than the drivers side. I measured the centre of the front wheels to the arch tip and its almost an inch.

I was advised by my dealer to jack it up this weekend and then put it back down again, other than that it'll have to go back to the dealer for recalibrating which is done via a plug in. something similar to VAG Com or the like.

I hope this wont be the case everytime the car is jacked up! which I hope wont be often but still, what an annoyance.

Hi you must deactivate air suspension before jacking up or lifting on ramp.

If it's same process as cayenne, then u have to hold button down for 12 secs,it will then come up as "regulation " off in display.

Is it possible that while removing and refitting the wheels you might have disturbed the ride height sensors - the hinged plastic arms?

As its a generation 2 Panamera the procedure to put in jack mode isn't the same as the previous Cayennes etc, there Is no lever to hold up on this. Its simply a case of going to the car settings on the touch screen, clicking jack mode and job done, this deactivates the air system.

Once you've done your bits and pieces you just put the car back on the floor and deselect jack mode. if however you drive off from the garage and forget it will deactivate itself after x mph anyway.. never the less its been deactivated.

I did think about a possibility of the sensor being nudged as the wheels are so they may have brushed something getting it back on the hub, so I will jack up that side again tomorrow and reinvestigate! Booked into Porsche Cardiff for them to look at but they cant see me till 4th October with a courtesy car.

I did buy lowering links for the car months ago which I haven't fitted, but I am tempted to do so now. They hold no load bearing and simply adjust where the sensors sit which then lowers the car accordingly.

will report back sunday when either my car is sat on the floor or I have atleast rectified said problem!
cheers

Hi, Irfan. Sorry to bother you. I met the exact same problem after I jacked my car to change the tire. May I know how you solve this problem? I tried activating and deactivating jack mode, but it doesn't work.
