Trickle Charger

I have a Porsche trickle charger with a cigarette lighter connection, only trouble is my recently purchased 2010 Boxster has USB fitments in the lighter. Is there an adaptor available to fit into these or alternative methods to use charger?

My Porsche trickle charger has 2 fitments; the cigarette lighter as you mention and a direct battery connection. I use the battery connection, leaving the attachment constantly connected to the battery terminals and just unplug the connecting wire to the charger. It’s then a quick job to attach under the bonnet. Have a look on eBay for the fitment adapter.

Suggest connecting to the manual recommended posts under the bonnet, otherwise connecting directly to the battery, bypasses the car’s battery management system and is likely toshorten the life of the battery.

Also worth checking the manual to see if there is a hidden lighter socket - mine was in passenger side underneath the glove box! This still didn’t work for me, since after about hour, the electronics switched the socket off thus preventing battery charging.
