I"m getting my 991 Turbo S Cab serviced next week at Porsche Centre West London. I need some new PPF on the rear bumper after a car park altercation. Has anyone used PC West London for PPF? Did they do it in-house or subcontract it out? If I had more time, I'd perhaps give the job to Topaz or Paintshield but it would be more convenient to have it done during servicing.

FWIW East London, Hatfield & Colchester OPCs sub out to Topaz, in-fact they resell the Topaz 'services' for new and used cars.
West London may do the same or would have a agreement with someone, I doubt they have someone in house doing it.
Failing that I'm sure Topaz or Paintsheild would pick up and return to the OPC, normally the problem with those guys is the lead time - always seem to have a strong pipeline of work.

My OPC uses Topaz, they actually get front end protection on all their demos. They reckon it’s cheaper than a front end respray.

West London used to use Topaz for new car PPF but don't anymore since they started doing it in house at Reading. Not sure if the same would apply in your case. I imagine a man in a van from Reading would be more cost effective and timely for them rather than sending it toTopaz.

It's not a man in a van. Central Ops at Reading (the guys who prep new cars, and also look after the very special ones) have a dedicated room.

I understand that and have heard nothing but good things about the work at Reading but for a rear bumper I would think it's easier to bring the man to the car rather than the car to the man.

I had my front bumper done by central ops reading after a parking altercation through Hatfield, dropped off, was lent a targa 4s with 4 miles on it and returned a week later to collect it, was also shown the special room, gt1 and various 918s plus at the time gt3 without the spoiler.
Car was literally spotless when it returned, I was a happy boy. Cost £800 but the did have to paint the bumper before reapplying film.

It was suggested by my dealer that I should have it from Topaz, which made me not want it even more. On afterthought (and a couple of chip damage to the stripes) I had the whole car covered by Janis at Max Protect in Kings Langley. I watched him do most of it and was impressed by the attention to detail.
Since done 5000 miles in the car with no ppf issues.

Lovely car. Another vote for Janis. Did this and its almost invisible. Full car PPF'd, ceramic coating on wheels and calipers for a very reasonable amount - at least 25% cheaper than Topaz via OPC. I believe he gets quite a bit of work from OPCs too.

I used Topaz for my GT4 in 2016 and was happy with the work and the price after a significant reduction from the original quote after a bit of negotiation and price matching.

Intended to use them again for the GT3 this year but a lot has changed there since 2016. I've no reason to doubt the quality of the work but they are now working with a price structure that is way above what I'm comfortable with.

They cater to some serious exotica these days, my brand new GT3 felt like a bit of a banger there.

Ended up at GVE in Uxbridge and I honestly think they did a better job of full cover PPF on the GT3 than Topaz did on the GT4. They removed more trim/plastic/headlights/bumpers/mirrors to roll as many edges as possible and they didn't make me feel like a second class citizen.

Recommended.
