I thought there were only 2 rhd? This one and a white car originally located in Australia.
I saw this car at Reading in area they keep the Carrera GTs and 918s.
Didn't Dario Franchitti own it at some point?
I think the asking price for the white car was 750k a year or two back.
Hexagon sold that white car for that price you mention I think maybe three years ago. Definitely north of £1mil. By Hairpin’s standards it’s probably not that ridiculous! I saw this car at Reading in area they keep the Carrera GTs and 918s.

Not being an "old 911" fan could I ask why it's stunning?
Is it purely its rarity and thus huge value? Aesthetics (not to me)? Probably not the performance compared to a modern hot hatch.
Perhaps it's the condition which is outstanding, in the same way a showroom condition Capri MkII 1600GT would be stunning to see parked up on your high street.
I found this one "interesting", which is why I snapped it (the one on the right)...

The owner told me it was one of the first five 911s imported by PGB. And it was in the hundreds of thousands value-wise.
That made it interesting, but not stunning. 911 fans would probably have drooled.
I guess it's just the Marmite thing that any car can turn on some people and make others think "Why?" and that's absolutely fine.

It's pretty much the ultimate 964. As I love the way 964s drive, I would expect it to be a stunning experience to drive. Unfortunately it's never going to get driven properly again! Dario did indeed own it and the previous owner was a Neil Ewing who had the car for years and used to track it occasionally at Knockhill .I believe Dario got the engine rebuilt at Reading I have been told .
I'm pretty sure the engine was out when I saw the car which IIRC was March '15.Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
