I want one but probably no this one..

Stumbled across this badger, (wasn't looking at cheapest), it's open bids & low start - sets off alarm bells.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/273525371098

.gov MOT checker shows mileage as '125,383 km', and between July 2016 it lumped from 68,916 miles to 120,069 km the same time the following year.

I think it's probably a ringer or at best an illegal import (same thing?).

I reported the item on ebay but all I can do it choose drop down options and none of them let me detail the crime I suspect.

I messaged the seller asking 'why do you think the government thinks it has 125K KMs..

Thoughts?

Hate fraudsters, like to go out my way to disrupt them.

I don't get what you are saying.

It has 69k miles in 2016 and now has 80k miles in 2018 and this is fraud?

To me it just looks as if somebody as done quite a lot of miles between those two MOTs and the MOT tester has gone from miles to km - happens all the time in the UK when Japanese imports are MOT'd. Maybe a further explanation could pinpoint why you think it's fraud, I may well have missed something smile

WTF.

Listing says 78k, 125,500km

No doubt there was much hilarity and head scratching at the lister when they got the "'why do you think the government thinks it has 125K KMs.." message.

Maybe it's an "illegal import" (?????) or a ringer, more WTF.

Maybe the last recorded owner was Elvis, and he used to chauffeur Nigel Farage in it.

my car has the same in its MOT history and servicing history - switching between KMs and Miles, as the car was regularly used on the continent. The owner simply swapped the digital readout to KMs and left it at that when back in the UK.
