Jap Spec Porsche Panamera Radio Issues
Discussion
Help !! I have bought a Japanese Spec Porsche Panamera GTS , which has a Porsche OEM Clarion Sat Nav AV head unit installed . The radio wont boot up because its showing Check SD Card fault see owners manual in detail .
Here the problem starts as there is no SD card in either of the slots. The radio is a Japanese spec Clarion 6PJ 642 which looks very similar to a NX809.
Im guessing that if the correct SD card is entered then this would allow the radio to boot up for radio music etc but understand that the Sat Nav may not work , is this correct ?
Anyone know where i can get an SD card to make this unit work please .

Even if you get it running with an SD card (unless it can be recoded to UK specification) you will have a frequency range of something like 76-94 on the FM band as Japan uses a lower frequency range than Europe, so will only get limited channels.
I had a Jap spec C63 and basically had Radio 2 as the only radio channel to listen to. You might be better to see about getting a used UK spec unit fitted so you have UK sat Nav & full frequency range for the radio.

Radio 2 would be fine , better than nothing !!
Had the car in to get a different Head unit fitted and that was a no go as they said all the connections were different between the radio and car and it would start affecting the parking sensors reverse camera also the Bose speakers and amp , there suggestion was to remove everything and install new speakers cross overs etc to go with the new radio but said they could guarantee the parking assist cameras etc would work
All I need is the old radio up and running , I can get a channel width gizmo fitted so it receives UK stations , would like the sat Nav to work but not essential
The wife always plays from IPhone anyway
