Comfort Spec Seats

Following on from my comment in another thread.
Does any other comfort spec GT'er find themselves slipping all over the place in the comfort spec model? The seats don't seem to offer enough lateral support for track cornering. I tend to spend half my pilot time hanging on for dear life to the steering wheel.
Before you tell me I need clubsport spec.
I use the car for perhaps 5-6 track outings per year, but appreciate the softer seats for my back, which ain't great, on the road miles I mostly do.
Does anyone know of an alternative to either extreme? A third way perhaps? Comfortable buckets, do they exist?

Sorry feeling like a bit of a moron today, after the M12 and the security of its 4 point harness I had got blase about sports car seats.
I honestly haven't sat in them, but they looked adequately comfortable. I bet they squeeze the shoulders a bit though as Porker seats seem to often do that.
Beats the Carrera GT though, which Flemke moaned had a seat designed around Walter Rohrl who's got a very odd body shape!
Have you got a half cage in the car already? Otherwise you need one to fit the harnesses, as well as seats with harness holes. A reasonably expensive business sorting all that lot.

I'm starting to realise that, bit pissed off at myself for not checking all the details.
I kinda imagined the seats would be ample for track. I mean they're not too bad, but my bro's CSL buckets were far better at holding me in place. Might consider the leather sport seats without harnesses, if they are comfortable and supportive.

Still deciding. Think I may keep the Noble until after lemans and see where the market is at. Might then go without a car a few months as I can walk to work so its just a toy. That way I can get a GT3 mk2 at the bottom of the market.
Been doing lots of research on spec, so hoping I'll get the right one. Its not hideous money for a harness and cage (just get it fitted at the right place unless you want your car bashed!), less than a single seat would be new I think. There were a pair up on ebay the other day and had already hit 950 quid. ebay uk, item no : 4546682580
(ebay spot courtesy of titanic mailing list, which you ought to consider joining now you run a GT3!).
Cage is a bit of a mixed blessing, as whilst its needed for harnesses (which I love on track), it does completely kill access to the rear load space unless you are a pigmy.

Probably should have gone for those. But after the Noble I really fancied something more luxurious! Shame i seem to have ended up at a unsatisfying compromise.

If you want to fit a cage, you can't use the 'fat boy' comfort seats because unless you are under 5ft 6 your kness will be around your neck and you won't be able to fit propper harnesse because there is no crotch stap facility. You need to have the propper sports seats if you want to fit a cage and harnesses.

If you are doing that many trackdays a year, you def need to get the buckets.. I have them in mine and the support is fantastic on track.. on road they are very comfortable, only problem is getting in and out, but you soon get the hang of it..As Steve says.. you will not be able to drive a car with comfort seats and cage unless you're under(I would say 5.8).. I'm 6 foot and tried getting into a comfort/cage car and could not fit, let alone drive.!

Don't beat yourself up too much about not getting a CS. Lots of comforts have the seats and cage already too

Check out that auction I gave you the number of for the seats. They are the nomex rather than leather ones, but if you buy new its gonna cost a packet and I dunno how common they are on ebay and whether you can afford to be too choosy.
I'm sure someone can give you a price on it here too, but best bet is to ring your opc as you probably want the official items which are configured for the car. Someone on titanic (I think) mentioned there were 2 good places to get the cage fitted. One place that does all the GT3 cup cars and somewhere else.
Hmm done a dig on titanic. Harnesses are roughly 700 for the pair including bars to fit the straps underneath (not sure if this is crotch straps or just 4 pointers).
Recommendation for fitting was the OPC in Reading as they do the cup cars.
Dunno about cage cost and seats. I'd definitely try to get the seats pre-owned!
You could also save a bit by just getting a harness on the drivers side.
TBH I think I'm going to have to grin and bear it, can't bear the thought of shelling out again. I just know its going to be XXXpensive. So instead I'm considering getting someone to truss me up to the seat with duct tape to stop me moving around... far cheaper.

Seats there usually are a number of auctions on ebay for these. As for the cage the T-Equipment one is around 700, and Harnesses are 200ish a side.
I had the leather buckets when I had my mk2 and they were great. Now have the cloth version in the RS and they have a little less padding but are still good.

Cheap option :
- Consider a CG lock? It locks the lap belt tight to stop you sliding as much. Apparently they work ok. Much cheaper in the US than here though!
I reckon you'd be looking at 2.5k+ to upgrade everything, so I can see why you aren't kean. My Elise didn't have harnesses and it drove me mad as I got really bruised shoulders driving it hard, especially on drift days.
