Hi all,

Well, I was hoping that the insurance on my Cayenne Diesel would be a bit less this year, after all I now have a year's NCB (this was a new policy as it was an additional car) and the car is no longer brand new.

But no, it's gone up from £813 to £950!!!! Nothing else has changed, so I thought Admiral were just fleecing me. I then checked the comparison sites, and it seems I can't get any insurance much cheaper than this (LV was £918)... WHAT THE HELL HAS HAPPENED? PORSCHE TAX?? BREXIT AGAIN???

So here's the problem... I need a policy for 16k miles of SDP+Commuting, I live in a nice rural area in the North of England, and I am 47 years old with 20+ years of accident free motoring. I pay about £280 a year on a Boxster S and about £450 on a 911 turbo... so where the hell can I buy a policy for this car that is even close to reasonable?

Any pointers would be gratefully received, as there must be a company out there that is a bit more realistic?

Many thanks
Gary

Have you tried to get all three cars on with one company only, many will give a discount to get the business.

Try NFU - they may cover your rural location.

Worth getting Multi Car policy quotes. And possibly investigating if you're better off switching the NCB from one of your other cars?

Your other two cars are so cheap probably as you do very few miles in them, a Cayenne for 16,000 miles and main car have you tried looking at taking the ncb of one of the other cars?

Don't be fooled thinking you only have 1 year ncb discount on the rate as many insurers will allow a full 60-70% discount on a 2nd/3rd car with nil ncb so the rate does not drop after the first year.

Nice collection of cars

Use your full NC discount from the Boxster or 911 for the Cayenne then insure the that car on a limited mileage policy with somebody like A Plan who will mirror your no claims, or as suggested go the multi car route with LV if they have given you the lowest quote.

I found them to be very competitive on multi car policies.
