If I wanted to go for a legal thrash on a public road I assume German Autobarhn is best and closest.
Assuming going for just a weekend, where would you head for? and how would you take car across channel, boat or train?
Does any organisation provide such a 'scenic tour' for like minded drivers?

Bob, there are some very very cheap deals to be had on cross channel ferries - a guy i work with is Belgian and goes home most weekends.
He uses one of these two:
www.speedferries.com
or
www.seafrance.com
He usually pays between £50 and £60 for a car weekend return.
I might be tempted to join you if you fancy a dash out to the highways near the 'Ring, and maybe a scenic lap or two, and a drive through the Alps on the way home...
