Just had my '06 997s in for a 111 point inspection before I put another warranty on it, (I bought it from Porsche 2 years ago and they've come back saying it has 13 over revs in band 3.and they want to further inspect. I swear on my life it has never been near one single over rev. I'm the only one who drives it (apart from when Porsche have it). WTF!

They should be able to tell how many hours ago they occurred, might help work out when it may have happened.

Thanks, yes I already looked at that but my point is I have never ever over revved it. Never once downshifted and thought 'oh that was bad'. but how can I argue against what Porsche are saying?

What are the revs in range 2 ?

Where are you based ? I can read that sort of data.

Hi thanks. Not sure what you mean revs in range 2? They just emailed me a report. That's all the information I have at the moment. Awaiting a call from them tomorrow. All the report said is 13 over revs in range 3 further investigation required £468 . Which is crazy. Never ever near over rev once.

Had the same on my last Cayman. Had to pay in the end but all was fine, have no idea how it could have happened either.

Range 1 & 2 can apparently be recorded on the rev limiter but range 3 not so. It was a small number so either not accurate or a fraction of a second early on a downshift.
