Not sure that article is really relevant to us here in England.

I know the value of my 981 has sunk like a stone in the years I've had it, the only reason I've not sold it is I can't face to realise the depreciation!

If you can resist ticking the options depreciation rates are very good. Options retain little to no value at resale perhaps other than PDK.

The worst losses I've seen are where people have spent £££ on options and then traded a few months later. Ouch !

No car has lost me as much as a Porsche in both depreciation and running costs - but I bought it knowing that, I still wept at the hit when I sold it

I guess it depends what you bought and how old it was.

So far two of mine have been brilliant with the 911 doing very nicely. I don’t expect to lose much on the Boxster either.

Panamera which was bought in the knowledge it would drop - there does, on the 911's, seem to be an artificial valuation which now appears driven by the dealer network due to PCP/Lease - if you look outside the network similar cars are 10 to 15k cheaper
