This vid has got some interesting spots in it. 6 cyl Boxster, 992 Turbo S, 992 GT3, Taycan, Taycan Sport Turismo

Although the most interesting thing is how quiet the new GT3 is (not good)...that’s at about 6.30. Later on there’s another clip where they catch it at higher speed and you can hear the noise of electric motors! Makes me wonder if it’s not a GT3. Although one thing is for sure my GT3 is going nowhere.

bound to have a kers systems imo

they keep saying the 992 is made to take electric motors.

And to move the game on kers is now needed imo as I am not sure where they can go without it on the 991.2 GT3RS.

put it in the halo model GT3 1st and it sells the 992.2 models. GT3 is a long way off still to order.

I think the first hybrid 911 will be the 992.1 Turbo, this will then differentiate it from the Carrera line for the Gen 1.

992.1 GT3 will be lucky if it can avoid turbo not sure it will receive Hybrid/KERS

Yes the CEO of Porsche said that Hybrid is coming in 992.2 and it’ll be the “most powerful 911 ever” so more BHP than GT2 RS. I think it’ll be a kind of Turbo S on steroids personally (like the top end Panamera)....this car has the GT3 exhausts though. Anyway we’ll see. All that said as far as I know hybrid systems don’t have a massive impact on exhaust note and that doesn’t bode well....but we knew that was going to be an issue anyway.

I thought the body was electric compliant also hence no thin body 991. that's what Porsche keep saying.

to quote " the platform of the new Carrera was designed specifically to accommodate increasing levels of electrification. "

"the 992 series, is already ready to accommodate engines mild hybrid and plug-in hybrids. The realization of a Carrera PHEV, able to travel in an exclusively electric way, is already in the company’s plans, says August Achleitner"

It's pretty black and white to say the least.

Just what car 1st the turbo is a good shout but that's seems a tad early.

I am shocked we don't have a push to overtake system yet !!!

If you went by that you would be waiting 6 years for a GT3 with any electric, I find that too long.

Porsche say 2020 if you read the press interviews for 911 models.

It's all a bif daft to talk about it imo, Porsche say it's coming and the 992 is ready to take it, so it's all guess work which cars they decide will have it.

Will they keep plugging away with manuals ? again hard to see it.

Well the 992 GT3 mule we've seen has one, so it's not that hard to see IMHO.

Are a manual transmission and a hybrid motor mutually exclusive? Has any manufacturer done one yet?

I'll will take a bet with you we will see some electric in a 911 model within 4 years cannot be fairer than that, although, I know you won't bet lol !
£50 to the guild dogs , as normal.

I bet a lot of people on PH, not a SINGLE person takes me up on any bets lol talk is cheaper.

Totally agree, puerile and quite frankly an embarrassing attempt at suggesting your self inflated opinion of what are facts are correct.

I'm not vaguely well adjusted biggrin

but that didn't get me anywhere when I had enough of his challenges too and offered a (unusually reasonable imo!) adjustment to terms of the bet.... hehe

lol don't make stuff up, I said lets do a timed event in cars we don't own, some one came back and said I need to be within 1 second of a Pro racers lap time in a 991 GT3 RS at Spa in my manual non RS GT3 ! wtf ! why would I agree to that ?

I back up every thing I say 100% keep your knickers on Mr King Troll.

My offer still stands for a timed event in a Caterham me vs you.

Have you booked Donington?

And lol went out in the 90's by the way.

And it's knickers not kickers take a bit more time, less haste more speed and all that.

Interesting points.

A 911 approaching 2000 kgs would be a very undesirable machine!

I am not on trend with sayings or follow trends :-) Spelling issues and word mistakes I have lived with all my life.
Brain won't type what I think, hence every post I make is edited after reading it back, failed O level English 3 times and tried to do it later in life, still failed it. Is what it is now at 50 years old.

I offered to take you out in my car you refused ? I can reopen that offer if you want see how I drive.
