Hello everyone, decided on a 997S. I need to get down and dirty on the specs, specifically suspensions. I wish to do some track days, say 2-4 a year, but probably not more. I read that the -20mm is very hard, but that PASM induces quite a lot of understeer on the Sports setting. Any comments on this? Of course AFN does not have any car to test this, and looked at me with wide eyes when I asked whether it was possible to test drive 1 on a circuit, even if meant paying something.
Are the super duper inflatable sport seats worth it? I presume the sport exhaust is a must also.

Thanks,

JAG

-20mm suspension is softer than a PASM on hard setting. It also feels more 'alive', looks better and has the LSD you will need for fun slides

Do not believe the rubbish about it being hard to live with as mine has done 6000 miles and the ride is fine both in town, across country, across the Alps, across I reland and on trackdays !!

The only negative aspect is that people who haven't driven one voice opinions that are utter crap and even more strangely not even based on magazine articles because no UK mags have even tested in this configuration.

I find it really disappointing that PCGB do not have a -20mm/LSD demo car so those of us that would really like to try it can.

I'm looking at this option as the 'ideal' compromise, a GT3 for everyday use!

OPC East London in Stratford told me that they would be holding a track day to drive the car properly(this is when I had an order down for the car). Don't know if it was something they said just to hold on to my deposit a bit longer! Worth asking though.

OK, belated thanks for the answers.
I just wonder what 1 needs to do to test the only 997 with a track bias suspension in the UK.
JJR1, I have a wife (and hopefully a baby soon) and will be using the car as a trans European commute. How do the suspensions stack up against a 996 4S, which had the 996TT setup?
Why did you choose it instead of the PASM, had you test driven this 1st?

Thanks,
