After reading through February's strut brace posting I've decided that I'll fit one to the C4S. Design 911 have one for about 175 quid but after looking through the Ruf catalogue they do a lovely milled Aluminum one but there are no prices on line. Does anyone have a ballpark figure or is it a case of "if you have to ask, you can't afford it

You'll feel the difference on your first hard bumpy drive, or your first track day...

You could try your local OPC; Porsche do a nice aluminium one, I think it's around £230.

Front or rear?
Does it make any difference on the 996?

They are very elegant and quite a bit more reasonable. Sold.

Any one know if a front strut brace would cure the slight windscreen creak I have in my 993 turbo?

Very unlikely, creaking windscreens only major flaw IMHO on 993s my C4S and 993TT had them, only really cured by new screen and resealing if your lucky, better still sports exhaust and you wont hear it!!!

Cargraphic do very good strut braces, cheaper that Ruf etc but just as well made. I thing the UK guy for cargraphic stuff is Stuttgart Connection, but could be wrong

Well it's only very slight sound. I didn't notice it until my indie pointed it out to me

I know there is a tip on using teflon tape but I thought since the strut brace would keep the front more rigid with less twist it might help the screen

Let me know how it fits on your C4S. The site states "it may fit" the C4S. I'd like one for my tt so let me know how it goes

If it fits one 993 it'll fit any other. I know how the strut brace fits and no car-to-car difference will change that. Narrow body, wide body, 2wd, 4wd, in that particular area they're all the same.

Handling? Well, i guess it may tighten the steering up just the tiniest bit, but i think you'd need expensive equipment to gauge that, you'd be hard pushed to "feel" any difference.

bumcrack, check the earlier thread re handling comments

divided opinions really

I would fit it in conjunction with full geometry by someone who knows what they are doing... it can alter handling so make sure mods are treated as a whole
