I took delivery of a new, custom order 718 Boxster in December. I'm the first registered owner. During the sales process, I was told that a benefit of buying brand new is the invite to PEC.

I asked on collection about PEC and was told to expect an invite after a couple of months. Nothing has turned up yet and the salesman is now saying it takes 6 months to come though.

Please can other owners comment on how quickly they got an invite? Is there anything I should ask to clarify that the salesman has pressed the right buttons to make the invite happen?

I had to chase my OPC for mine a couple of years ago, but it turned up fairly quickly after that. It sounds like yours hasn't been requested properly? I'd chase it again.

I definitely had to chase it a few times, the guy came through in the end though. Surprised as I thought they might possibly let me do it before the spec locked down and I'd taken delivery in order to upsell some more options.

I have had two invites in past year relating to new cars and both have come through about two months after placing order. In both cases I had to wait for PEC to receive their demo cars . This shouldn't be an issue now though as they will have all current models I would imagine.

Thanks for the feedback, it sounds like I need to contact the dealer principle and ask them to check the request has been properly registered. The salesman is fairly new to Porsche, so may not know the correct process.

My order went from decision to final build very quickly, as they had a slot come available after the WLTP shutdown.

No need to contact DP. Just check with PEC direct, I have done so in the past to expedite a drive.

Called PEC today and all sorted, seems the OPC had registered me but for some reason the invite hadn't gone out.

Now I've got to find a suitable weekend to make the trip to Sliverstone smile
