I’m Going to the Cotswolds for a night away, wedding anniversary, and quite fancy taking a nice car rather than the Volvo family wagon!
Any recommendations apart from the stuff that comes up in google?

Many Thanks

A comment on the google ones...

I had a 718 Boxster (through a goodwill gesture from Porsche) which was provided through one of the larger rental agencies (with a green and black logo). It was in pretty poor condition, didn't have working lights, had front sensors that randomly came on and didn't work, and have electronic issues inside.

Be careful of getting one abused from a larger place!

I went to a wedding out in Somerset and decided that it would be nice to turn up in something decent. Rented a Boxster 986 from one of the big companies by Lancaster Gate central London. It was 2003/4.

Nearly stuffed it straight away with too much throttle on the one way system there, went all sideways smile

Taught me to let the tyres warm up first.

Just looked it up, it was Eurocar. Still there, but doesn't appear to do Porsches anymore and F me! how much to rent a decent car these days? even a lowly Astra is £100 a day.

Rent .... just book a 24 hours test drive, per the Porsche UK website.

I had a brand new Macan S from Saturday through to Monday ... "just put back in the fuel you use Sir".

Didn't buy in the end ... nothing like the "if Porsche did Hot Hatches" ... but jolly reasonable of the OPC all the same. I shall repay them by buying a 718 instead.

I’ve used Avis Prestige in Petersham Mews a couple of times for 911 rentals and found them excellent to deal with. The cars were immaculate and well optioned.
