I have a 2008 GTS which I’ve owned for a couple of years with no major problems.

This summer I’ll be taking it to the south of France and putting a couple of thousand miles on it.

My question is should I replace either or both of the packs and shaft in advance as a failure, even with breakdown cover, would cause inconvenience. Are these both a when not an if or are people out there still in their originals with no issue?

There is no hesitance in the engine nor knocks of noises coming from the shaft.

I appreciate people will say “if it is massively inconvenient get them done” but it’s appears pointless to replace parts which as yet haven’t given any indication of failure and fail gradually rather than suddenly
