Are there things that you just expect to get or ask for when buying a used car from an OPC aside from the obvious like the car, a discount, coffee mug, key fob etc?

Finance, gap insurance, paint protection, service plan, car mats, mud flaps, the list is endless.

Oh, you mean freebies, how about a bunch of flowers.

On one used purchase i got a abit of discount and a half a day at the PEC. On another i got nothing, but on collection I was told to pick something worth £30 of the shelf as a gift, so I took a £70 Polo shirt lol.

Saw an invoice for a new 997 4S

A full list of everything was on including part numbers, showing all the extras.

The only thing on the invoice that was foc was a baseball cap.

Aside from the obvious deal itself (discount and p/x offer) I've had a few things that I've specifically asked for:

Carpet mat set, small umbrella that fits in the door sill moulding, wheels painted a different colour, Major service despite not being strictly within the necessary approved used car timescale (service due within 3 months, from memory).

I've also had several invitations to the Porsche experience centre at Silverstone, and a spare key/photo presentation box thrown-in. Not much in terms of outright monetary value, but I think the buying experience and handover have been really good on the 3 occasions I've bought used cars through OPC's.

Are you considering a specific car, or is this a general enquiry? Curiosity piqued....

nothing brewing save that im thinking about softening my stance on a dealer purchase. their cars have always been much better prepped than the private or specialist dealers and i def want a warranty

I’m currently in the same boat, seen one car I like and the dealer has only offered £500 off of the £75k purchase price despite the car being for sale for 5 months. Given the spec and it’s the only car I’ve seen in the last 3 months I actually like I’m not really able to do much more.

I’m going to try instead for a PEC day (for two!) and perhaps something else.

Most OPCs are currently desperate for used stock so discounts are virtually non existent.

my experience a bit different. im looking for a 997.1gt3 and they are very motivated sellers. granted, most of the stock across the network is non CS but the level of discount they were prepared to offer was not immaterial. the cars had however 'seasoned' beyond their target turnaround so with each subsequent 2-4 weeks they would drop the price

Managed to get the Experience Day thrown in as long as I took their finance. Feedback from all of the OPCs I called is that stock is so hard to come by that they are holding cars for longer with less incentive to discount as there’s nothing to replace it.

Seems a bit counter-intuitive to me and my basic understanding of economics, turnover and cash flow but there you go. I was happy enough anyway, got the bare minimum I wanted.

Going back a few years now, but got £1k off a £30k Cayman, 2 years old at the time. On collection day me and the Mrs got a goodie bag of stuff; a t shirt, a cap, 2 cups and a tie pins. I wasn't expecting any of it and it made me really happy haha.

Also had a free driving experience, but that came later.

Got £1000 off for taking finance on my 997.2 GTS...and a photo of my 7yr old son and I on collection day in a Porsche frame. The latter is still in my sons bedroom so guess that was a good gift! More importantly helped establish the relationship with the OPC which turned into a GT3 last year.....

Sounds like a varied assortment of things and no hard and fast rules

Are their month ends as important as quarter ends? Ultimately I guess year end is best to negotiate the ultimate package?

My experience varies from dealer to dealer. I've bought from 3 cars from 3 different OPCs in the past two years (so I am never going to get a new GT car, but hey).

The first (new Macan GTS) did the whole bundle of flowers for my wife, keyrings, mats, boot liner, and a few more unexpected bits. The next (new Cayenne Platinum Edition) did the photo in the frame thing, which was nice, as well as a few more bits and pieces. And the third (used 991 GT3) just gave me a box containing the photo frame (but didn't take a picture) and a business card holder with their cards in, but that was it. When I remarked that there had been nothing interesting in the way of gifts and surprises, they told me that they didn't do them.

I suspect that it comes down to how hard you negotiate, how much margin there is for giveaways, and whether you ask for them up front. I don't normally ask, but I do like surprises and tend to remember this when buying the next car :-)
