Dear Community,
long time lurker here;

On our road parking is tight, the pavement high and I need new tyres for my Cayman.
Wheels are Carrera S 20inch. Any ideas?

Michelin PS4S has a rim protector and is generally regarded as the best road tyre for these cars. Also available with the Porsche N rating so no warranty concerns if that's a consideration.

Or GY Eagle F1s. Likewise, seem to be highly rated, N-spec and some rim protection.

I replaced the factory fit Pirellis with Goodyear Eagle F1s when the time came, and it's night and day a better tyre IMO. I have the same wheels too

I share the same sentiments, last longer, quieter and cheaper ........ GY Eagle definitely.

Thanks everyone, this is definitely very helpful.
It is now between GE F1 and PS4S.

Does anyone know, why the N-rated version of PS4S has B mark for Rain and the non N has an A?

I've come into this a bit late, but based on your question, I think the PS4s has a bit more rim protection.

I went from Conti sports on my Civic Type R a few months back and was close to pushing the button on the Goodyear's until I saw these on a colleagues car and they looked a bit nondescript and without much rim protection.

Clearly the Michelin is the slightly 'better' tyre, but the cost differential between them brings the Goodyear very much back into play, although reviews suggest it's not as performance focused as the PS4s and maybe is positioned somewhere between the Michelin PS4 and the PS4s in terms of sportyness.

The wear rates look quite similar, but have another look at the rim protector if this is important to you.

Thanks vernz, there is no bad choice here, is it? wink
Yes, the rim protector is important, so the expense may be justified.
But why the N0 is labelled worse in the rain than the non-N rated version?

Just a guess, but could it be down to slightly different tyre compounds?
I’ve had no issues with my GY Eagles in the wet, N0 rated
