I made the mistake of volunteering to repair/replacing the window regulator in a Porsche Boxter 2004 reg. All went well, until the car's battery went flat, setting now off the car's alarm.

Presently recharging the car's battery, when reconnecting the battery, in order to prevent alarm going off again, will i need to turn the ignition key on ?

I also need a code reader to reset the car's air bag warning light., what is the best code reader that covers the most manufacturers make of cars.
