whats a ventilator then?

Bugger, thought I had deleted it....
Better explain a bit then.
Whilst trawling through ebay a Porsche 944 was advertised, and a highly good "VENTILATOR" edition.
I did copy and paste it, but didn't work out. So thought I would delete it rather than cock it up any more than I already had....obviously not
Do you think the seller means VENTILER ie 16v

Bobfrance is looking about, on another thread at the moment, doesnt' know what to go for precisely, but thinks a view of an 83' SC in Lancs' at 7K and change, might be worth a look perhaps.
Targa's are a bit cheaper I understand, mine is a LHD import tin top, have you looked here;

Tim fretwell,
often has some affordables in, and very friendly and helpful.
Might be worth a look sometime.

Careful, the 2.5S is both peaky and fragile (compared to every other 944). I wouldn't touch one personally, but have helped friends buy 944 2.7 Lux, 2.5 turbo, and S2.
VS
Lots of myths about the S being problematic, based on the fact that Porsche never specified a service interval for the cam chain tensioner when the car was launched so a number of failures gave the car a bit of reputation which it doesn't deserve. Also the S2 has exactly the same cam chain tensioner as the S.
As long as you replace the plastic tensioner pad on both the S and S2 every 20k miles and cam chains at 80k to be on the safe side then your ok. The pad only cost a couple of quid. Same as any car if you don't spend money on maintenance then your going to have problems at some time.
The S (190bhp)is quicker than the lux (163bhp) both with 2500cc engines. I've had an S for five years, its reliable and never let me down.
