I saw an amazing 911 in Morrisons today and I instantly fell in love with it. Who here drives a Porsche and what do you do for a living?

Looking forward to your replies!

I had a remote control one once. However, as a 10 year old, I was regretfully unemployed.

As my username suggests, never felt the need. Why did this encounter move you so?

I knew a guy who was in charge of fresh produce at the local cash and carry. He had an (older) 911, used to park it in the work car park every day. Then they found out he was putting £50 of stuff a night out in the bins for his mate to collect and pocketing £100 a week to pay off the finance.

Maybe he should have stuck to walking to work.

I run a Cayman and it's been daftly cheap to run for 6 years (to fully answer the OP, I'm a mechanic and part-time race instructor).

I drove a porsche.

A lady that couldn't park properly poked it into my 1991 Ford Fiesta. I had to move it out the way after she broke down in distress about damaging the car (probably an elaborate scam to get my fingerprints on the steering wheel for a fraudulent insurance claim).

At the time I was a student working as a "Chicken Stripper" for Northern Foods so I probably got my own back from the residue my post 12hr shift sweat left on her steering wheel. Not to mention all the sweat and grease off my overalls on her car seat!!!!! Porsche driver, social class C1, was really after a 24v Corsa at the time TBH.

I also 3 decades on, had as a works car for a month one of those Cayman things. But that isn't a real porsche in terms of the OPs question is it, that is just an overpriced, overbadged Audi Q7? Correct? Whilst my job title was probably very important sounding, the social impact of my work was probably no more than when I was a student ripping chickens to bits to put every last non offal shred possible in Marks and Sparks sandwiches so again, porsche driver, social class C1.

I drive a Porsche. And a Skoda. I have a job but I’m not going to tell you what it is. Sorry.

They’re wonderful cars to own (Porsche, not Skoda) and I’m grateful every single time I see it and start it up.
