Electric window problems

Help please..... The left hand window on my '99 996 cabrio is sticking and making a dreadful graunching noise. I can't get it to go up. Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated.

sounds like your window cable is snapped (or tangling up, so will snap). Mine has done it twice on a boxster.

You can buy a new regulator (porsche part) from eurocar parts for about £90 (12mths warranty). bit fiddly, but fairly easy to do (just remember which way you pull the old one out)
