Porsche Cayenne 958.2 colour coded or not?

Hi guys,

Recently bought Cayenne 958.2 has the 21” wheels from factory so comes with wide arch kit which are black plastic mouldings. I was thinking of getting them colour coded to the bodywork it’s moonlight blue along with the black trim on the side skirts and bottom of front and rear bumpers.
Is this a good idea as I would like the look but the black plastic trims are slightly textured been to a few Bodyshops saying it would need sanding down then primed etc. But I asked a local car Detailer who advised not to as soon after stone chips will hit the car and will make the paint slowly to flake off and before you know it 2 years later it will have to be done again as you won’t get the same finish if it had come from the factory Is he right?
