No idea..maybe for a four -door EV?...

I was more interested in how composed the car appears to be. I am not ready to actually buy one - will wait to see real world experiences, the availability of charging stations, range and so on. Still, it does seem a very serious Tesla rival.

It certainly looks impressive and very composed through the faster bends - I am mainly interested in how it performs on the Autobahn - don’t need to go super fast, so a 260-270 top speed is sufficient for day to day use, but would like to see how far you can get in normal Autobahn use / how much it regenerates etc

Really looking forward to seeing the finished car and getting more and more user feedback

That’s hugely impressive.

I keep reading about people putting deposits down....I’ve had my name down for about 18 months ant not been asked for anything. Have people been asked for a deposit already ?

My dealer won't take any firm orders or deposit on the Taycan as its deemed unethical for a yet to be launched new model.Other dealers in the UK might have a slightly different outlook.?

Mightily impressive but without the sound I can’t really relate to it. Sorry if this sounds negative, I know it’s the future but to me it doesn’t push my buttons.

Understand that and was the same way but I find myself getting more used to it. If for instance I had a 20 mile commute with traffic an EV is tremendously relaxing to drive. I have driven a number of them, a couple of Teslas, the Jag iPace and so on, and I can see a use for them. I am not yet ready to do it, too damn traditional, but I expect I will get there.

At 7:42 it's 4 seconds slower than a panamera turbo... And how many laps can it do like that?
I like the taycan a lot more than any tesla but not blown away tbh

Yep, I have a Pana Turbo and it is quick , but I think the use of this vehicle is as a highway car and daily driver, and the fact that it can come close to the Turbo in its first iteration is still a notable achievement. I have no doubt that it will take time for many people to want an EV (myself included), but it is getting far more real now.

They've been taking deposits in lots of markets but not in UK, I think it's down to Porsche GB rather than the dealers. My dealer is taking a deposit off me as soon as it launches on 4th September, hopefully we'll have more details on pricing and spec then.

EV is something that until you live with it daily for a few years do you realise how much better it is for day to day use .
RS always better on track but in town and commuting a no brainer ....

Johnny Smith aka @carpervert in his recent vid said being launched in Turbo trim at £120k. Base car will follow next year at £65k. That was his interpretation of what he’s been told by someone at Porsche. Sits between Panamaera and Cayenne in terms of pricing. I really have no need/want for a “Turbo” electric cars are plenty quick and it’s not really the point. I want something that will reliably do 200 miles in a day.

Makes sense what you say on deposits...I think that’s a Porsche GB policy because of GT cars. Can’t take a deposit until a car is launched.

I have expressed interest in a Taycan since it eas first announced..I'll finance it through my business to take advantage of the huge tax incentives..As a private purchase its much less attractive from a fiscal POV.
I phoned the SM at my OPC last week for an update and he confirmed that it'll be only the top of the range version with 600HP at launch..However he expects it to be about £150K which is a large chunk more than you've been told..At £120K it'll be a semi-sensible buy especially if you can take advantage of the first year 100% WDA..

Cayenne Turbo is 142k Euros and Panamera Turbo 160k Euros base price (prices in Germany), so given current FX, 150k GBP seems pretty close to in the middle between the two nowadays

Can't agree there tbh. I'd personally take some kind of hybrid over a pure EV anytime as a daily unless one had constant availability of an overnight charging point (not always the case in central london/city areas).
