After a lot of deliberation, I've taken the plunge. I'm picking up my 996TT a week tomorrow, and just can't wait !!!!
It's a 2003, in slate grey, with black leather. It has PCM, Bose, and most importantly the X50 option.
Drove it last weekend, and was absolutely stunned by the performance. I thought I was used to quick cars, but this is something else !!!!
Thanks to those of you on this board who gave advice / insight into Turbo ownership, it was really useful in helping me to decide.

Excellent news.
Always fun taking delivery of a new car. Just make sure you get over to Germany for some fun on their derestricted autobahn.
If you intend on driving the car hard at times I'd suggest fitting an alloy gearshift linkage instead of the plastic one the car leaves the factory with. Details can be found if you click on the 996 turbo in my profile. Look at August and September 2004 entries.
