i'm a relative newbie to the porsche world; DH has ordered me the ehybrid, for delivery in 3weeks time.
Can anyone advise on extended warranty packages - ie extending beyond the 3yr manufacturer warranty.

Also, are there 3rd party insurances for these in London area?

thanks in advance.

Any 'experts' can help with this??
Any option to increase (ie lengthen) manufacturer's 3yr warranty at point of delivery or is there a 3rd party route?

Not usually at the point when you buy the car... but Porsche have been running an extended warranty programme for decades now, and it's the best one out there. All our car have been covered by this over the years, and it's worthwhile. When your manufactuters warranty is about to expire you can buy it from them following a 111 point check, usually about 800-900 per year, and you can buy 1 or 2 years at a time.

Hope that helps.

OK many thanks.
So if i understand correctly, I need to remind myself to extend the warranty near the end of year 3 at an OPC, & that warranty is good at any other OPCs (in UK)?

I suspect they'll be keen to remind you to extend. And it's valid worldwide, same as the original.

You need to remind yourself I would say. Cayenne service intervals are two years/20k miles so unless you happen to be at the OPC for other work they may not remind you at year 3.

ok, thank you all for the kind replies.
Like i said, i'm completely new to the porsche world having been put off mercs by their generally poor service attitude.
Sales side fine but everything else is another story.

for the ehybrid specifically, is it advisable to do a oil+filter change every 6-8k , ie in between the 20k service intervals?

I am not a great believer in 20,000 miles between oil changes. For what it costs for a oil and an oil filter I would say 6 to 8k miles is a good idea,

Thanks Hellcat - what does it actually cost for the change at an OPC??
I can't imagine i'll put a brand new through an independent, for now.

Plenty of reputable independents Porsche specialise around you can trust for that kind of work. I did a running in oil change on my GT3 (which Porsche don’t recommend) at 1400 miles....£300 at an independent. RPM Technik in my case.

Have to say I haven’t bothered on my Cayenne though.
