I'm fairly certain that was the Newfoundland Memorial in Beaumont Hamel that they used, though he did refer to the British troops.

I did a trip to Ypres and the Somme battlefields and cemeteries in May which was very moving.

I did like Rick's car - pension age bloke in Porsche convertible is not normally a look I approve of, but I thought it suited the style of the programme.

I enjoyed it too, although without wishing to complain to the BBC it wasn't the best advertisement for not drinking and driving!

I ran an mot check on it. It’s only done 40k ish, so not used much.

The amazing house in Provence clearly not his.

You can keep the stinky pig gut sausages too.

it is actually his car, he discussed why it was chosen, on the Chris Evans show yesterday.

Track this, circuit that, motorsport developed, ring lap times...... Generally that 911 would be scoffed at because it rolls a bit, too heavy and a bit soft.

But that looked like bliss driving through the French countryside with the roof down and the car looked good.

Softer suspension, powerful enough, nice cabin and taking in the surroundings roof down.

Got me looking at classifieds.

Wow ..... jealous much ?

He never made out it was his, you can rent it if you can cobble together the fees https://www.oliverstravels.com/france/provence-alp...

Ran an MOT check, joker, the fellas worth c£20m and you just want to scoff ...... he probably has multiple cars in many locations and a lifestyle that potentially doesn't give him lots of free time .... he probably works at least as hard as the hardest working here ....

Just interesting sometimes and on this occasion shows it’s a low mileage example so likely in fine order. Great car for the trip.

Alright don’t raise your heart rate too much.

Jealous, it’s a nice car but I wouldn’t pick that particular model, so not especially, but I’ve got one in the garage and would happily buy a 997.

Jealous of the house? Who wouldn’t be, it looked stunning, but out of reach for me and probably most others on here.

As for the mot check. I think it made interesting reading, clearly well looked after low mileage example, nothing more sinister than that.

No idea why I’m defending myself, but thanks for casting your incorrect opinion of my comments, you seem to be the sort of poster that’s destroying what was once a good forum.

I find it a strange hobby of some members on here.

Just seems odd to me.

It’s public information but if it seems odd that’s ok. We all do things others see as odd.....

It was actually a friends car, and yes nice roads and plenty of them in France, I don't think it matter what everyone thinks about what Ricks driving and at whatever age he is, the guy is passionate about food, and looks like that passion is also in his choice of car, Nice one Rick and great programme.
