Last year had my 997 detailed by Paul Dalton,Miracle Detail. He seems to have shut up shop so looking for a good detailer that can give my 997 a once over for winter as like to drive all year around. Anyone have any experience of a good detailer in Hampshire or West Sussex. I am Chichester based.

Wash it yourself and then put an acrylic sealant on it like Carlack ( https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/carlack-68-long-lif...) and then just literally rinse and repeat throughout winter putting the sealant on every month or two months depending on use. Takes no more than an hour to do it on a 911. Then get someone to detail it in March. Pointless paying someone a few hundred quid to wash a car that gets driven in winter. Get one of those big buckets with a filter in the bottom that lets all the crap through it to reduce the chances of you scratching the car when you wash it.

Get in contact with Tom at TK Detailing based on Basingstoke. Either him or his chap who lives closer in the South Downs can visit you and detail your car or you can take it to their premises in Basingstoke. The do all manner of cars from Senna’s to daily drivers.

What are you trying to achieve by detailing it? Polished paint? Rust/corrosion protection?

just some protection over winter, i am prepared to wash it once a week (two bucket system). I thought that some exterior protection might help car protect through winter but maybe pointless.

I wouldn’t wash it until the weather is better. Keep it as dry as possible and remove with your hand any build up of leaves and gunk which would otherwise rot around wheel arches etc. It’s the damp sitting around that does a lot of the damage.

Unless the car's left outside all winter I'm not sure you need to do anything I'd have thought?

Check out Minutia Detailing, I'm very OCD with my cars and wouldn't trust anyone else to touch them.
