996 turbo + SC VS GT3/4

Hi all,

Contemplating this one. Currently have a nice manual 996 turbo on 90k miles. Considering selling up and replacing with a 996/997 GT3 or 981 GT4. Alternatively, I could add an SC or possibly even a 3.2. Probably a year off making the change but nice to consider the options.

Neither options would be used for commuting. Any thoughts on this?

I’d add the air cooled. A nice SC or 3.2 Carrera makes perfect foil to a 996 turbo.

If you do the odd track day GT car a no brainier but I watched a 3.2 Carrera on track last year and owner looked like he was having the best fun.

For recreational road fun, the air-cooled 911s are a great choice, but you need to buy carefully.
The best useable choices seem to be the 3.2 G50s, 964s or 993s - all good in different ways. Finding a nice one is part of the fun.
GT3 or GT4 are different altogether- more performance and track oriented.
