Close ratio gearbox - anyone done it?

Hi all.

As usual I'm after more and more power out of my motor (993 powered 1983 SC) and I'm thinking about either supercharging it or maybe a close ratio gearbox.

The supercharging route would obviously give me the power and torque but I'm a little worried about the 915 gearbox being able to handle the power.

Hence, after doing some research I'm wondering whether a close ratio box could be the answer. I've read reports of older less powerful cars being able to keep up with the newer cars purely because of the ratios.

I know that Powerhause II offer a full set of ratios but does anyone in the UK offer the service and more importantly, how much would it all be?

I've used Powerhaus II for different 5th and 6th gear sets for my 993 GT2. Superb service, excellent prices, I've just ordered another 6th from them arrived next day.

Provided you have a spanner man who can fit them, this is a very good route to go.

In terms of spanner men as I am based down south I reckon I'll speak to BS Motorsport, Jaz, Bob Watson and Paragon to see what the damage could be.
