OPC number plates.

My 944 is desperate for number plates. I really dislike all the nonesense they print on number plates now but I thought it would be quite cool to get dealer plates from my local opc (dick lovett Cardiff).
Maybe an obvious question but do they offer that service? Or is it only for cars that have passed through their business, which would be understandable.

But, why would they not sell you plates with their advertising on?

You should be ok as long as you provide any documentation they request. I got plates for our cars from the local OPC when not a customer other than for the odd part.

Quoted £30 for a pair for the Panamera from Sheffield. We shall see what Hull charge in a little while.

I'm with DL Cardiff and assure you they will put plates on your 944..They did it about ten years ago on our Saab Sportwagon..

Or just buy "show" plates from ebay that have no advertising or post codes. Potentially problematic on a recent car but no issue on a 944.

My local OPC insists (with no exception) on fitting the new number plates to the car which is fine in principle but if you're putting a different number on i.e. a personal plate, it's a pain to have to sort the insurance out whilst you're at the showroom, especially if you can only visit on a Saturday morning! The upside is that the dealers prices are less than the internet & they fit them properly 😉

when I had my 911 I ordered a set of plates online from a generic show plate company and where the option is to add text. I had the dealership name written there. saved any possible embarrassment of them saying no when I asked.

As the 944 is way before 2000, the rules do not apply or at least they didn't on my Integra type r.
So you can get show plates without the humph or add your own message providing the reg# is in the correct font and spacing.
