Swapped my 944 for a left hand drive German spec 924 Carrera GT earlier this year .It`s superb and bought in preference to a 911SC of similar vintage .Anyone else running one at the moment , or is it just me?

Bootiful car. First time I saw one was at Le Mans, being driven by (I think) Jurgen Barth. Rare as rocking horse doo-doo, and just that little bit different.
Of course, gobshites in 924's are now starting to put CGT bodykits onto them, usually with disastrous consequences.
If you fancy a move back to 944's give me a shout for a swap with cash either way ('86 turbo, RHD). Other than that, keep it!!!

Thanks , but the novelty of vintage turbo lag hasn`t warn off yet . Love the 944 and had nearly three years trouble free from my 1984 2.5 944 ; I`m convinced they will be in demand when people realise what a lot of ropey 80`s 911`s there are knocking about now . The 924 idea is 30 years old this year and still looks good and if I can find one , I`d buy an early 1975/6 model . My CGT has about 44000 miles on now so if I keep it long enough ( and use it sparingly ) it should boost my pension a bit!

Ok,Ok .
I`m going to get a grown up to help me with the technical part of your request. It`s in guards red with 16" fuchs should you be wondering bought from GMUND cars near Knaresborough and previously owned by some German Football Manager . I only really bought it because I had a poster of one as an impressionable child .

As far as I'm aware, all 924 Carrera GTs were LHD. Anyone know how many were sold in the UK? And any idea of overall numbers made?

Having done a bit of homework , there were 75 rhd cars imported to the UK , all with air con and electric windows etc . out of a total of 406 (including 6 prototypes) . 200 cars were made available for the German home market on which Aircon etc was optional . No idea how many have survived though .

Personally I'm waiting for one of the three Le Mans cars to be entered into the Le Mans Classic 24 Hrs. In theory they should be eligible next years as they will be 25 years old by then.

I wonder where they are, or if they even still exist?
