Has anyone had experience of tracking the PCCB series 2 ceramic brakes as fitted to the Turbo S? I'm afraid these would put me off buying a Turbo S until I was sure they could be abused and wouldn'd require frequent expensive replacement.
Something to consider would be to buy a used X50 and get your name down for the new 997 turbo with the factory poower upgrade, rumoured to be around 520bhp....

I've got my name down for a 997 turbo, never heard about that power kit. Not that my dealer has sent me any information at all. Any links around for any info on this car?

If the 997TT does have 480-520, thats quite a jump after 408-414-480 for the standard TT.
Where do we think these leaps of hp will end? I don't know whether to be frightened of gladdened by the though that quite a few people of indeterminate ability are (AMG) and will (Porsche) be drving round in 500bhp behemoths.

I know exactly what you mean, it does seem insane that so many cars have 500bhp these days when it's harder and harder to apply it whilst avoiding the chain gang. Those crazy marketing guys won't get me, except they will.......damn.

No , black one sold I believe, this one is seal gray.
I drove it several weeks ago and it made an impression I can`t quite forget, the short throw gear shift and carbon brakes were IMO far more rewarding to use than than that of the 360.
Sounds just like the one I picked up from the factory last week. Not sure what a demonstrator is worth though. It does feel a bit more special than the X50 but that's only because of the badge.
No Aerokit this time Daz - I wanted that extra 1mph

Nice one, although the 1mph doesn't matter so much now as VMAX has been been invaded by a load of Rufffians!!
Does the arrival of the Turbo S mean the RS has been sold? Or have you sold the Lotus and kept the RS for trackdays?

I’ve still got all three but I suppose I’ll have to do the sensible thing at some point.
mikial - the fact that I part-exchanged my X50 back in September and then missed it so much that I ordered another one says it all really. The S appeals to me because it’s the final version, has all the goodies I want as standard and hopefully there won’t be too many of them. The 997T probably makes more financial sense but I didn’t fancy waiting 2 years, and I know that as soon as I got one Porsche would bring out a facelift or power upgrade, which would drive me nuts. A few things are slightly better than the old car, PSM2 is much better than PCM1 and the 2-year service interval is nice. I also like the look and lack of dust of PCCBs, but I agree with Daz that I wouldn’t want them on a heavily tracked car.

I received this morning the July copy of Total 911,just a very quick glance through resulted in two opinions.........the photography is rather good and Kismet has struck. There on page 48 is a 12 page article dedicated to the Turbo S.
Thanks for those words Martin. I`m waiting for the OPC to call back with a p/x figure for the 360, so it`s stand by for a severe rogering time then.............
