Which dealers? Not all it seems, nothing on Porsche's website.

You have the wrong priorities. Hundreds are dying, thousands are losing their jobs and people are upset they can’t drive their new Porsche. Get a grip

Just keep 2m from pedestrians ?

Is the no driving request about person to person contact / not getting out of the car, or driving per-se ?

The question is not a guilt trip ... we follow the science ... ??

Chill. I have complete respect for the situation and have been observing the rules. That doesn't mean I can't have a bit of a downer on not being able to enjoy my car.

I agree ... if there is a good reason not to drive I will always observe it.

But it can't be wrong to ask the question and try to find realistic risk minimisation that might be acceptable.

We will be going stir crazy ... ??

So we need to deliver food or medicine to a vulnerable person ... or vulnerable people...

How do we organise this ?

By postcode to postcode without deviation ?

Unfortunately like many things in life you have to set a rule that means the fk wits won’t abuse it. If you allow people to drive then the kids will all be out in their cars hanging around empty car parks.

Given the gravity of the situation not being able to drive our cars is no price to pay. Agree there is plenty of volunteering to be done but how much of that needs to be done in a 911 is debatable!

But this is the Porsche section for talking about driving Porsches, or at least their value/stitching.

There is nothing wrong with being sad that you can’t engage in your hobby, or any of the other things that you can no longer do.

Doing that in this section doesn’t make you a bad person, or someone that doesn’t care.

Perhaps consider that any journeys not for the reasons the government stated might have an impact. What if you break down? Have an accident? suffer a sudden unexpected medical calamity whilst on a road in the Welsh hills? All of these things are highly unlikely but if they did happen would you expect the ambulance / rescue services / breakdown company to come to your aid when they are prioritising key workers and the sick and dying.

Stay home unless you have to go out for the reasons listed. Pretty simple.

I’m still waiting to hear the official line on the effect of not being able to get a my car serviced and the future of my warranty.

So dropped off my Spyder yesterday at OPC for 4 year service and we joked that I wanted it back ASAP so it would be prior to any lockdown.....
So my man said I’ll give you something nice (anything other than a 4 cyl 718!) in case you end up stuck with it.... Sure it was meant in jest but now I find myself in a new Cayenne S Coupe for the foreseeable!

Even if the dealer was open strictly speaking I’m not able to travel to collect it!

Sytner have sent out another mail saying all their (Porsche) dealerships have closed from last night, if you are a 'Key Worker' and your car is with them to make contact on a dedicated e-mail.

I’ve got two cars booked in for servicing with a Sytner OPC in the middle of April. I’ve not even had a generic “we’re closed” e-mail. Not an issue....more important things to worry about right now !

MOT validity is also going to become an issue. Key workers will still need to maintain their cars MOT and post this there will be a long backlog of cars needing testing before they can be legally used, Porsche or not.

Got through to my dealer who told me that they have no idea what will happen with warranties but they “think” Porsche will honour them despite elongated servicing......they claim Porsche UK have shut down with no further contact available......where the hell was their company planning?
