Morning. Does anyone on here have any experience of fitting these CD Changer emulators to their cars (can I post the link to the ebay site)?

My Cayman with CDR-24 is a weekend/holiday car so don't really want all the bells and whistles of a full CD unit replacement (plus I quite like the OEM look of the original). I'd also like to keep front to rear fade as pushing a bit of balance to the rear does improve the sound to my ears.

Just want to plug in and charge my phone and control what i'm listening to via that and make hands free calls when my 997 C4S X51 driving mate leaves me and my lowly 2,7 behind up some Alpine Pass rolleyes

Don't want an FM transmitter type as well.

Thanks

Escy

This is the one. Price seems to have gone up a bit as i'm sure they were just under £100 originally. Now £125 on eBay for a UK supplied one.

I have one of these in our Boxster. It’s exactly what I wanted and works spot on.

Got mine from Amazon but it’s the same thing.

Thanks to all for the advice.

Fitted it yesterday. Bit of a head scratcher as they seem to have improved the optical harness to be 'plug and play' but not updated the instructions. Once I sussed that out it was just a doddle. The hardest bit is deciding where to put the unit. I've gone for the glove box solution and the microphone in the gap between instruments and steering column.

Streams music brilliantly and made a few calls and those are also very clear. Happy to keep the OEM 'retro' look to the interior as well. Think the CDR-24 suits the car. Can understand those that swap out the PCM though. thumbup
