Noob question....
I am hopefully getting back into Pork ownership once this madness ends (everything crossed) and fancy a PDK this time (don't hate me!)
My question is in regard to the rev matching on shifts - do all PDK equipped cars do this?
Or just the latest generation?
Or is conditional on Sport Chrono being installed?
Or Sport Chrono Plus?
Thanks much all - stay safe and here's to getting back out there soon!

All our Porsches are PDK and they all auto blip but only one has Sport Chrono fitted.I am hopefully getting back into Pork ownership once this madness ends (everything crossed) and fancy a PDK this time (don't hate me!)

Surely all PDKs rev match on the down shifts?
What I was never sure about, having always owned PDKs, was whether on the manual you needed Chrono to get auto blips, or if just standard sport mode would do it.

I wasn't sure if just having PDK got you auto blips on downshifts or whether it was PDK but WITH Sport Chrono that enabled it.
The new manual GTS 4.0 I note has an Auto Blip function built in, not sure if it is exclusive to that model though.
I’m interested reading this thread. I have a 997.2 c2s pdk, cab. It has a gentle life but has been to the Alps a couple of times. Most noticeable going down Stelvio, in Sport Plus, the rear wheels often lock momentarily on final auto downshift into the hairpins. I’ve never noticed any particularly noticeable auto blip? Does this sound right. The car runs perfect.

+1 I took my 2014 Cayman 981 2.7 PDK out yesterday (for essential supplies - 1st time in 3 weeks) and happened to notice that in normal (non-Sport) mode it blipped on downshifts when braking quite hard into a roundabout.
I'd been aware it does this in Sport more noticeably but hadn't really noticed it in normal mode. It certainly wasn't as pronounced as when it's in Sport.
I don't have Sport Chrono or PSE. Hope that helps confirm it for you.
Thanks everyone.
This all stems from last autumn when I had a few laps at Thruxton in a Cayman PDK. It was "only" a base model not an S and I didn't notice the SC buttons on the centre console (or if they were there they weren't lit up). Granted it might have had PSE, don't know for certain as I only had limited time.
When braking in for a corner and downshifting you could hear and feel the engine rev matching very efficiently and it was incredibly smooth and really impressive. I came away thinking that I would be pretty happy with a PDK based on that downshifting smoothness (had manuals before).
Cheers
