Does anyone know what the additional options are on Turbo S vs. Turbo?

I'm trying to workout if Turbo S is worth it over the Turbo, and if I'd care about the extra options it comes with. I remember someone saying that it was something like this...

Turbo - starts at 116k
Turbo S - starts at 139k, but has like 14k of options that you'd have to spec on turbo, so actual cost difference is £9k or something

But that Turbo S is only faster when you engage launch control... not in the other modes?

Anyone really looked into this?

The main differences I noted were:
- Two tone interior (£336)
- Electric sport sound (£354)
- Real axle steering (£1,650)
- PCCB (£4,217)
- Sport Chrono (£788)
- Mission E-wheels (£2,282)
- Couloured wheel centres (£114)
- Carbon trim (£1,422)
- Powered charge port (£443)

So maybe £11k of options?

In terms of performance, i think base power is the same on both, it's just overboost that provides higher power on the Turbo S?

Most of that I'm not massively fussed by, other than sport chrono.

I've had another look and looks like you get the electric sound too, which is £350.

I heard they're bringing in less Turbo S...which would be good for depreciation, but I still imagine it'll cost more to have an S than a Turbo, given the 20k extra cost of which 10k is just for launch control.

Have you got one on order?

Read his list again wink

Does this just make a sound inside to mimic exhaust or outside too? Seems a bit weird and artificial to me, just embrace the fact the car is electric and enjoy the stereo more?

It's not just 'launch control'. Plus presumably the residual will be higher, whereas adding the same options to the Turbo would probably not affect the residual value (assuming you were leasing the car).

I'm waiting for the Sport Turismo (or whatever it will be called).

I was in the same predicament and chose the turbo as in the end it is not worth it. Done 400 km in the Turbo S and 2.500 km in the Turbo.

Day to day there is no difference noticeable, so personally I think it doesn’t justify the price difference.

Sport sound is a must it sounds ace inside and out!!

The full list of standard equipment changes walking up to a Turbo S:
21" Mission E wheels £2,282
Wheel centres £114
Rear axle steer £1,650
PCCB £4,217
Two-tone leather interior £336
18-way seats £0
Carbon exterior inlays (unique to Turbo S) £1,000
SportDesign side skirts £665
Black window trims £245
Sport sound £354
Powered charge port cover £443
Sport chrono £788
Interior carbon package £1,422
Carbon illuminated treadplates £716
Painted exterior mirrors (lowers in gloss black) £380
Model designation in black £168
Accent package dark silver £383

Which leaves just under £8k for the Turbo S power/performance premium.
As some have mentioned previously, while you may not want all the above options, there is a greater element of residualising the option costs when baked into the vehicle price compared to speccing up a Turbo with the same list.

And the Turbo S max torque is higher than Turbo in all drive modes at all time, not just when using launch control.
However, in day to day use this is virtually imperceptible given the Turbo baseline is quite punchy.

Single most important feature of an electric car over the next two or three years until fast charging networks are really available is range....so a 4S with it’s smaller wheels and likely longer range is the best model in that respect.

Matt Farah’s just revised it

Really don’t see why anyone would buy anything other than a 4S. Yes the Turbo S is faster but does that really make that much difference in a four door daily driver ?

Like for like spec a 4S and a Turbo's range will be virtually the same. 19 vs 20" wheels don't make a massive difference, it's when you go to 21's (especially the mission E) that you'll lose a decent chunk of range as the 21's come on sticky rubber rather than low rolling resistance tyres.

4S has enough performance for most people, but is noticeably lacking compared to a Turbo, even on public roads. Don't get me wrong, 4S not slow by any means but the same as with a Tesla, if you've driven the Ludicrous one, going back to just a "bloody quick" one you'll feel it's got more to give.

A Turbo S is harder to justify in terms of usable performance benefit alone.
