When I accelerate hard from a standing start the first two gear changes feel like someone is hitting the engine with Thor's hammer. To call it a kick in the seat is a massive understatement.
This is not due to low gear box fluid as I have had this sorted.
Thanks

When you say you have had the low fluid sorted, do you mean it had low fluid which has now been topped up? If do did it do the hard shifts before the fluid was topped up?

Have you had the fluid changed or is it original, and if so how many miles has it done?

It has done ,65k miles.
The fluid has been replaced with gear box oil and it it did it before and after the change.

Does it set off in 2nd gear normally? So I presume you basically using ‘kick down’ to get it into 1st gear.

Good point, it definitely happens from 1st to second but I rarely ever start there so its in 2nd and from 2 to 3

I would stop accelerating hard until you get it looked by your indie. My car (997.1)is tiptronic but to get it in 1st gear I have to put it in manually. Keep us informed. thumbup

Why don't you try disconnecting the battery for an hour? It'll reset any learned gearbox behaviour. Could be a very cheap fix.
