Not for my 911 but for my other cars and I would use him for my 911 now I've met him. He is ex-F1 mechanic, seems to know his unions and is a nice guy, which is half the battle.

I can share his details but it depends where in the country you are (he is Herts area).

Edited to add, I've just seen you are in Dorset so probably not very helpful for you.

Last time I needed new tyres I ordered from Camskill and then got Halfords mobile to put them on the wheels. As I timed it for the change to winter tyres onto a spare set of wheels, I put them on the car while he was doing the next wheel. So I did the jack work and he did the bits I cannot.

Use at your own risk, entirely down to the skill and level of care taken by the fitter on the day.

I've had awful experiences with them, but also perfectly adequate experiences... would take a car to a proper tyre fitting place out of preference generally.

I'm in Herts and interested - please pm me. I had someone in a van round once and he let the wheels boing on my paved drive as he slung them off the car causing slight scratches. BMW I think but made me annoyed.

Would he be able to do centre-lock wheels?

Not sure about centre-locks but I don’t see any harm in posting his details here and you can check with him : John Gates, 07746 903095, info@thetyrechangers.co.uk
