Real shame, the knowledge he takes to his grave!
A real nice person who has given us much enjoyment.

What bad news...

Thankfully he will doubtless be remembered by many for his genius and contribution.

You could take a handful of pictures of cars that he had a major design input on and show them to someone uninterested in motorsport and they'd probably recognise them. Icons.

Sad news but an amazing life and contribution to our world of cars and motorsport.

It's perhaps fitting, in a small way, that I had a particularly enjoyable drive in my 993 today noting the responsiveness and aural pleasures of the 'Mezger' flat six.

RIP Herr Mezger

I had a drive on Sunday in my 997RS with its familiar bucket-of-bolts rattle at idle..its an old friend now..have had it from new. Next trip I will feel a touch of sadness that we have lost its designer.

One of the most prominent figures of the defining era of motorsports, and in the history of Porsche. He has left behind an indelible legacy that will be revered by everyone with even a hint of petrol in their veins. Gone, but will never be forgotten.

RIP Hans.
