Have you asked you question on PH? Usually someone can give a good answer.

Does PH mean a different thread of PistonHeads?

Actually PCGB "can" sometimes provide an answer!!

He's tried on PH by the way & don't think he got the answer to his question.

Why does it have to be UK based? I'd have said Rennlist

If you've tried here i'd try Rennlist ? as suggested above, By far one of the best resources on line, Some of the UK based Porsche specific sites are some how geared towards hating evrything that doesn't belong to them ? which is very peculiar.

OP in in the UK and has a question about getting an independent inspection for a potential purchase.
Rennlist is a great international resource especially US - but not much UK specific intel.

911uk. Obviously 911 focused but there are sub forums for other models.

Not PCGB, there's a distinct lack of activity on there, Although i'd have thought that being as they specifically deal with all models right across the board there would be some form of assistance offered.

What is it the OP is after a PPI ? A mate of mine wated similar on a Macan GTS and couldt find anything, In the end he and the seller went 50/50 on a FULL service and had it MOT'd a few Months early in the hope that it throw up any faults ?

It was all OK,

As for the Forum in question.... i just found it very biased with the same old spouting the same old..... it was like a shooting gallery, anyone asked a question and the stock answer was always the same. It got a bit boring.
I think they rely on the Annual churn of new 911 buyers every spring / summer so they can give them the cold hard facts about how st their car is, Make themselves sound knowledable, inform those less fammed up about their chocolate engines, worst 911 ever made, best get a 175K miler 996 with a Cat D written off status oposed to a 1 owner low miles FULL OPC slightly newer car,

The scary thing is its virtually the same car, any way, i wont be going back there, as for the American forums, Positive, knowledgeable and no cock waving ! plenty of folk offering great advice and helping each other out.

Bit far to go tho for a PPI ?

There are none in the UK. If you dared to buy anything with an engine in a sensible place, you're treated like a leper it seems rolleyes
