Afternoon gents.

I've been having an intermittent problen with my '01 996:-
It started a few months ago with the ABS and PSM disabled light appearing on the dash. I stopped and turned off engine...all back to normal when restarted. This happened intermittently over a period of a month, when accelerating hard in a low gear between 3-5k rpm. This then developed further...when the disabled lights came on the dash there was associated big flat spot in power between 3-5k rpm...and on a couple of occasions no power at all just idle revs requiring immediate pulling over and restart ignition to solve problem.
I took it into OPC Notts for a diagnostic and they suggested a faulty Mass Air Flow Sensor which was dully changed under warantee. This solved the problem for a couple of weeks. Today however the lights appeared on the dash but none of the power symptoms thus far.

Any suggestions?

Don

Quite possibly a loom problem. I had this on my first Boxster S - I believe the just changed bits over from a working car until mine worked!

This kind of thing needs an OPC to sort it out for you im my experience...

...thanks. Strange how the new Mass Air Flow Sensor cured the problem for a while.
